On 8th to 16th of August 2016, ITB Telecommunication Engineerin class carried out Intensive Linux Class in Telematics Lab. The class that was attended by 28 people was instructed by Pak Adrie Taniwidjaja, one of the staff in the telematics lab. The intensive class was carried out from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon with one hour break. The class consisted of Telecommunication Engineering class of 2014 and 2015, and also the students from Telematics and Networking graduate program.
The first day of class was used for installing the Ubuntu Server that is used untill the rest of the week. The attendants were given order to bring a bootable flash drive from start. The next days covered Linux commands, basic networking, and installing additional application.
Linux is one of the most used operating system by network engineer because of its high custom-ability, open-source, and also have high standards of security. With this intensive class, hopefully all attendants, particular the class of 2014 and 2015 will be more interested in networking and would study Linux even further.
